2009: Memorial To The Velvet Revolution (Prague)

This is the memorial that marks the spot where student demonstrators marching down Narodni Street met with police. Communist governments were having trouble all over Eastern Europe at the time and within six weeks Havel was President of the new Czech government. The memorial is just a tiny plaque and has even been desecrated by a sticker that someone has made a half hearted effort to remove. I am tempted to bring a scrub brush and clean the rest of it off.
